I paint coastal scenes inspired by places I know and love around the British Isles. Working mainly in oils, I capture shifting light, rugged shorelines and the atmosphere of the sea. However, I am less interested in perfect detail than in colour, texture and a strong sense of place.

Each painting is an original response to the landscape, created with expressive marks and layered surfaces. Above all, I want each painting to bring a little of the coast into your home.

I also accept selected commissions for favourite coastal places and meaningful seascapes.
