This painting captures the the beautiful colours at the top of the park, close to Jo’s studio.  For those that know the park, it is the pathways at the end of the rase garden /entrance to the woods. The painting is left quite vague for the viewer to choose if there is a pond on the left hand side. It is painting in several expressive layers of oil paint and the perfect size for behind a sofa. Autumn in the Park
Oaks park is situated on the chalky North Surrey Downs . It is about 10 minutes walk from my home in Carshalton Beeches. It is also where my studio is. It is a park I have the pleasure of walking around often. I love Autumn in the park . However, it is also incredibly beautiful in the summer. It has the wonderful summer meadow planted by the conservation group The Downlands Trust. As well as painting the trees, I have also several paintings of the meadow. I also like to the Mayfield lavender field which is opposite the park.
