I love Oaks Park and dogs and wanted to capture it in a painting. It was tricky to do but I am pleased with the results. The actual painting is sold but prints can be brought. I do accept commissions to put your favourite dog into the scene. It makes a wonderful present for an Oaks Park dog walker. Email me if you are interested.
Description
The dogs of Oaks Park, Carshalton
Oaks Park is favoured by dog walkers. It is also where my studio is so I am often walking Tilly around it. It is at its most beautiful in the summer when it has a beautiful meadow planted by https://www.downlandstrust.org.uk/. Sometimes the park is quite busy and it is fun watching the people with their dogs. There are so many different breeds, shapes and sizes. It is like ‘Hairy Maclary’. I wanted to capture this in my dogs of Oaks park painting.
Commissions
There is a large canvas print of the original painting in the Oaks Park cafe. It is one of my most popular paintings. I have painted several commissions that are similar to the original but include a few different dogs.
