The Little Woodcote Estate, the view opposite Oaks Park – Print
I just the love view on my left-hand side as I walk or drive down Woodmansterne Road to get to my studio in Oaks Park. Considering it is part or suburban London, it is a rural scene with farm buildings, and often sheep and horses in the fields. This original oil painting is sold but it is available to buy as a 20x20cm print. It can also come framed also. It makes a lovely gift for any Carshalton Beeches locals!
The Little Woodcote Estate
is understood to have been developed by Surrey County Council as smallholdings for servicemen returning from the First World War.
The idea was to enable them to support themselves by living off the land. I love the contrast of the black timbre buildings and the sage green grass. Especially in spring when the sheep are grazing. More information about this area could be read on an article: https://friendsofhoneywood.co.uk/carshalton-memories.html.
The Downey Sheep
I believe the sheep are from the Downey sheep partnership. https://www.facebook.com/downlandsgrazing/. They are really beautiful and I have painting several of them.
