Description
The Inspiration for my Surrey landscape meadow painting
This Surrey landscape meadow painting was inspired by one of my walks in Nonsuch Park, Cheam, North Surrey last summer. Nonsuch Park is such a beautiful park in the boroughs of Epsom and Ewell and the London borough of Sutton. It is one of my favourite walks a few miles away from where I live. Henry VIII built Nonsuch Palace to use as his hunting lodge for the nearby Hampton Court in 1538. It provides me with much inspiration for my paintings including my ‘ Lone Tree at Nonsuch’. It is a large park to walk around and recently I came across another part called Warren Farm. This part of the park is managed by The Woodland Trust and they have create a gorgeous meadow in the summer that has wild planting to attract wildlife.
The Woodland Trust
As an artist who is inspired by Nature, The Woodland Trust is one of my favourite charities. They are a large conservation charity who plant trees, protect woods and trees, restore ancient woodland. By restoring the Warren Farm meadow the grasslands can have as many as 30 species of wildflower within a quarter of a square metre. Wild flowers, such as orchid, cowslip and red clover blanket.
