Wild flora and golden field acrylic painting

This painting by Norfolk born artist Jo was inspired by the summer hedgerows and cut wheat fields of North Norfolk.  Although she now lives in Surrey, Norfolk provides much inspiration for her work. She particularly loves the glorious variety of wild flora found in natural hedgerows against the background of the golden cornfield.  It is beautifully framed with a wide elegant 8cm St Ives frame.

Wild flora and golden field

Jo wanted to  capture the beauty of the wild flora and golden field she saw in the village of Thornham, North Norfolk after a holiday in the area in 2021. She stayed with friends at Burnham and enjoyed the simple delights of North Norfolk. She especially liked the walks in Thornham, admiring the beautiful natural flora in the hedgerows and the coastal walk. Also great to visit are Thornham Deli and Erics Pizza.

The wild flora found in the British hedgerows are a real inspiration to Jo. She likes to paint them every year in May and June. Some of her most popular prints are from her botanical collection of prints inspired by Cornish hedgerows.

The coastline of Norfolk and Britain provides Jo with much inspiration. You can see more of her coastal paintings: Coastal – Buy an oil painting | Prints | Commissions (jo-sharpe.co.uk). These include seascape paintings of the Isle of Wight, Cornish harbour scenes and Overstrand beach in Norfolk.
